William Rogers Obituary

William 'Phil' Rogers, age 76 of Louisville  was born March 22, 1938 and passed away June 17, 2014 in the care of Hosparus. He was born and raised in New Haven, Kentucky. Phil passed after a valiant struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He married his high school sweetheart, Lenora Boone Rogers 55 years ago. Phil had a 42 year career with General Electric (GE) where he was a Tool and Dye maker and Payroll Administrator. We mourn the loss of Phil, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.  He is proceeded death by his parents, Joe and Edith Ray Rogers, brother Jack Rogers and wife Dorothy Culver Rogers, sister Sarah Kimmel, brother-in-law Marvin Hall and several nephews and nieces. Phil is survived by his loving wife Lenora, his daughters Lauren Rogers Kiesler (T.J.) and Kara Rogers Miller, his granddaughters Savanah, Abigail, Emily Miller and Ashlyn Kiesler, siblings Mary Helen "Sis" Hall, Judy Radonich (Charles), Margaret "Mocki" Rogers (Harlan Siliman), Barry Rogers (Pam), Joanna Ennis (Tommy), Steve Rogers (Kim), Ben Rogers (Pasty), Bernie Rogers and Boone Families. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21st at 11am at St. Vincent DePaul Church in New Hope, KY with burial to follow in church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 20th from Noon till 8pm and Saturday, June 21st from 8am till 10am at Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hosparus of Louisville (care of H1CC) at PO Box 35425, Louisville, KY 40232-9892 and St. Vincent DePaul Church Roof Fund at P.O. Box 58, New Hope, KY 40052. Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home, 324 East Center Street, New Haven KY is entrusted with the arrangements.
