William Ayers Obituary

  A New Haven resident, William Bernard “GooGoo” Ayers Age 92 yrs passed away early Friday morning August 12, 2011 at his residence.   He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, in New Haven. He was a retired employee of Bartons Brands Distillery, an Army Veteran, life time member of the American Legion post #121 Bardstown and VFW post #5710, Shepardsville.   Bernard was preceded in death by his Parents, Joseph Dominic and Mary Sudie Hagan Ayers, and a grandson Charlie Ayers, (3) brothers, Joseph Fred “Shorty”, Raphael and Fabian Ayers, and a sister Bertha Ayers.   He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Joan Greenwell Ayers, (4) daughters; Rita Lucas, Laura Rogers of New Haven, Gayle Bowling, and Vicki Bunch both of Bardstown. (4) Sons; Wayne, Don, Jeff and Chris Ayers all of New Haven. (22) Grandchildren, (17) Great Grandchildren   He also is survived by (2) sisters, Barbara Lamkin, Lebanon and Dorothy Kotheimer of Florida. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.   The Funeral Service will be at 10 am Monday at the St. Catherine Catholic Church with Rev. Troy Overton as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will begin at 1 till 8 pm Sunday and again at 8:00 am on Monday until time of Service at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, with a prayer service on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.  Joseph L.
