Rachel Alice Hagan, 81, of Shepherdsville, passed away July 16, 2023 at Norton Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. She was a registered nurse, worked in day cares, and loved her garden and flowers. She served at both Oak Grove Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, Taylorsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Oscar and Mary Belle Gilpin; her loving husband, Bro. William Reece Hagan; her son, William David Hagan; along with siblings, Stanley Pete Gilpin and Rose Beatrice Woodard. She is survived by her son, Timothy Wayne Hagan; two brothers, Samuel Ernest (Peggy) and Tommy Allen Gilpin; a sister, Nona Marie Cundiff (Jim); her grandchildren, James David Hagan (Maggie) and Ashley Nicole Hagan Brunsman (Mike) and her great-grandchildren, Nolan, Elli, Maddie, Connor, and Asher; along with her daughter in law, Mary Brothers Hagan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley Creek Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Friends may visit from1-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Arrangements have been entrusted to both McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven.
