Maurice Hawkins Obituary

Maurice Paul Hawkins 58, New Haven, died Sunday Dec. 18, 2011 at Flaget Memorial Hospital.    He was a life long resident of New Haven, born to the late Albert Walter and Margaret Evelyn Grubbs Hawkins. Paul was a devoted dad, grandfather and brother, he loved to golf, fish, play softball and was a big UK fan. He was a Supervisor at Johnan of America in Bardstown.   Paul is survived by his Loving wife Wanda O’Bryan Hawkins, (2) sons, Chris (Jessi) Hawkins, Jamie (Tabetha) Hawkins both of Culvertown. (1) Daughter, Melanie (Chris) Bishop, Bardstown; (8) grandchildren Madison, Michael, Hannah and Noah Hawkins, Mackenzie Clark, Abigail Willett, Gracyn and Gretchen Bishop. (5) Brothers, Danny Hawkins, Bardstown, Emile Hawkins, Louisville; Gary Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Doug Hawkins all of Loretto. (5) Sisters, Carol Hawkins, Louisville; Margie Greenwell, Loretto, Laverne Hickerson, E-town, Gloria Wathen, and Judy Hawkins both of Bardstown. Many brother and sister in laws nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Hawkins, (4) brothers, Bob, Ronnie, Jim and Albert Hawkins and his father in law Robert O’Bryan.   Funeral Service of Paul Hawkins will be held on Wed. at 11:00 am, Dec. 21, 2011 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven with Father Troy Overton officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.   Visitation will begin Tuesday at 1:00 pm till 8 Pm, with a prayer service at 6 pm, and again on Wednesday at 8 am till the time of service at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.   Arrangements by Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven, www.jlgfuneralhome.com
