Mary Ellen Metcalf

Mary Ellen Lanham Metcalf, New Haven age 88 died peacefully at Jewish Hospital surrounded by her family on Thursday Feb. 19, 2015.  She was a Catholic by Faith, a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. She worked in the Nursing Home Industry for 25 years before her retirement. Mary Ellen  was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E Lanham and Anna Pearl Scamahorne Ice, her husband Joseph Paul Metcalf an infant daughter, Mary Ann Metcalf and an infant son, Joseph Allen Metcalf.  She is survived by a son, Dan Metcalf (Edna), New Haven, (2) daughters, Karen Newton (John), New Haven and Janet “Jan” Borders (Jay), Clarkson. (6) grandchildren, and (12) great grandchildren and a brother, Daniel Odell Ice, (Marlona), Bardstown.  A Funeral Mass for Mary Ellen Metcalf will be held on Monday, 11 am, Feb. 23, 2015 at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven, with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Church Cemetery in New Haven Kentucky.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 12 pm - 8 pm with a Prayer service at 3 pm with Deacon Jim Cecil, and on Monday morning 8 am - 10:30 am at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.  Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
