Marvin Saunders Obituary

Marvin Sylvester Saunders, of New Hope age 74, died from an accident at his residence on June 7, 2013.  He was raised in Potosi Missouri by his late parents, Ralph and Mary Helen Saunders, a Catholic by Faith, he retired from Jim Beam, played guitar in the band “Kentucky Rebels”, and he was an avid Horse man and loved to fish.  Along with his parents Marvin is preceded in death by a son, Billy Martin; (3) sisters, Audrey, Veronica and Mary Alice; and a brother, Carl Saunders.  Marvin is survived by his children; Richard Saunders, Moore, Ok, Dean Saunders, Bardstown KY, Mark (Tonya) Saunders, Glasgow KY, Angela (Todd) Davis, Hill View KY, Scott (Angie) Saunders, New Hope KY, James (Jacqueline) Clan, New Hope KY, Charlene (Bobby) McDougal, Bardstown KY; (3) sisters, Laverne (Jack) Miller, Joyce (Irvin) Goodson and Cecilia (Wesley) Slatton. (3) brothers, George (Sheila) Saunders, Paul (Martha) Saunders, and Larry (Vicki) Saunders, all of Potosi Missouri. (17) Grand Children and several Great Grand Children, and a special friend, Arletha Miles.  A Funeral Mass for Marvin Saunders will be held on Monday, 12 noon, June 10, 2013 at the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in New Hope, with the Rev. Ken Fortener officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday, June 9, from 3 pm-8 pm with a Prayers service at 6 pm, and on Monday morning 9–11:30 am at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
