Martha Ann (Reed) Holbert

Martha Ann Holbert, 78, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin.  She was the former Martha Reed, a retired employee of the United States Postal Service, where she worked for 33 years, and a beautician.  Martha was an avid UK fan, enjoyed her family, especially being a grandmother, and was known for making the best strawberry preserves.  She also like to crochet and make Christmas candies.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George William and Mary Naomi Reed; a sister, Jeannie Cornish; and a grandson, Kevin.  Martha is survived by her husband of 47 years, Danny Holbert; five children, Scott McMahan (Lydia), Shannon Ritchie (Phillip), Shane McMahan (April), Rachelle Anderson, and Kenneth Corey Holbert (Sarah); four siblings, Emily Shelburne, Bonnie Reed, Ricky Reed, and Johnny Reed; along with 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home with cremation to follow.  Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Kosair Charities.
