Juanita Metcalf, 86, of New Haven, passed away July 7, 2026 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Culvertown, Ky and a life long member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she taught religious education for over 30 years. She was married to the love of her life, Donnie Metcalf on September 29, 1956 and remained a loving wife and homemaker for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Pearl Downs; along with her siblings, Paul, Adrian, and Raffo Downs. Along with her husband, she is survived by four sons, Wayne (Joan), Donald (Kim), Dale, and Michael (Patty) Metcalf; her siblings, Arnold Downs (Linda), Thurman Downs (Carol), Betty Cissell (Phil), and David Downs; along with 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Thomas Cemetery Fund.
