John Hannon "Big John" Thompson

  John Hannon “Big John” Thompson, 54, of New Haven, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at his residence after a courageous battle from cancer. He was born to the late Patrick Xavier “Pat” Thompson and Teresa Marie Boone Thompson. He was a Catholic by faith, a 1975 graduate of Nelson County High School and was employed by Certified Construction in Vine Grove, Ky.    In addition to his Father, John is preceded in death by his sister Mary Jo Thompson. . John is survived by his Mother; Teresa Boone Thompson, a Daughter, Nichole Thompson, and a Son, Aaron Thompson. (3) Grandchildren, Tyler, Jaylene, and Chad Hughes. (2) Sisters, Regina “Gina” Jacobs, Berea; Teresa “Terrie” Morgan, Rineyville. (4) Brothers, Steven “Gilbert” Thompson, Frank Thompson, Michael “Mike” Thompson, and Larry Thompson all of New Haven. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.   The Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in New Haven with burial in the Church cemetery, Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m.Friday,   continues at 8 a.m. Saturday at Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
