John William “Willie” Reed

John William “Willie” Reed, 92, of New Haven, passed away June 1, 2025 at his home.  He was a lifelong carpenter, a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and music.  He was also a United States Army Veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Reed; his loving wife, Teresa Dewitt Reed; 9 siblings; 2 grandchildren; along with a special friend, Sylvia Price.  He is survived by 2 daughters, Kathryn Reed and Carolyn LaFollette (Roger); 4 sons, Michael (Bernadette), Mark (Becky), Melvin, and Merle (Sherry) Reed; along with 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.  The family would also like to give a special thank you to Amanda, Michelle, and Rosanna for their love, care, and support.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025 and after 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven.
