John J. Locklin, Jr., 96, of New Haven, passed away May 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. John was a proud United States Army Veteran, a strong Catholic by faith, most recently attending St. Clare Catholic Church, Colesburg, and he retired from Seagram’s Distillery. John helped raise seven children and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Margaret Locklin; his first wife and mother of his children, Rita Marie Greenwell; along with five children, Diane Locklin, John Locklin, III, Michael E. Locklin, Sheila Nalley, and Margaret Todd Boone. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Locklin; one son, Tim Locklin (Sara); two daughters, Regina Locklin and Gina Johnson Bischoff (Jeff); five stepchildren; eleven grandchildren; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Clare Catholic Church, Colesburg, KY with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven.
