Harold V. Bowling, Sr., 84, of New Haven, passed away April 20, 2021 at his home.
He was retired from Barton’s Distillery and Bowling’s Nursery, a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, and the New Haven Optimist Club, and a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W., Sr. and Laura Alice Bowling; along with his siblings, Mariann Gant and Selby and John L. Bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Bowling; four sons, Harold V., Jr. “Weird”, Joe, Donnie (Missy), and Michael (Jessica) Bowling; two daughters, Marsha Miller (Don) and Anna Hurst; a step-daughter, Susie Oliver (Larry); a brother, Billy Bowling (Betty); thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; along with the mother of his children, Mary Bowling.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to St. Catherine Catholic Church of Hospice of Nelson County.
