Gerald Thomas “Tommy” Harris, age 67 of Gleanings, died Wednesday afternoon Oct. 15, 2014. He was born and raised in New Hope KY by his late parents, Sherman and Rosa Shofner Harris. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam Era, he attended Levelwoods Methodist Church in Larue County. He retired from Gates Corporation in Elizabethtown KY after 33 ½ years of service. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rolie, Floyd, Bill, William, Edward and Lupie Harris.  Tommy is survived by his (3) Children, Sherry Harris Carter, New Hope, Tammy Feese, Campbellsville and Kevin Harris (Teri), of New Hope.  (2) grandchildren, Ryan Feese, and Austin Harris. (4) Siblings, Thelma Ruley, Louisville, Aline Donahue, New Haven, Gary “Rusty” Harris, New Haven and Robert “Mib” Harris of Elizabethtown. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 1 PM, October 19, 2014 at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday October 18 from 4-8 PM and Sunday from 11-1 PM at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rolling Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Gleanings KY in Larue County. Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven KY in Charge of arrangements.
