Garland Boone Obituary

Garland Anthony Boone, 86 of Howardstown died on March 25 peacefully at his home. He was a Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown. He was the captain of the Howardstown Fire Department and Member of the Rolling Fork Fire Department, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Rolling Fork Fire Department and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Bartons Distillery in Bardstown.        He was preceded in death by his Parents, Emanuel Boone and Saloma Lucy Howard Boone, (5) brothers; Irvin, Punch, Bud, Ed and Cyril Boone, (1) sister; Josephine O’Daniel.        Garland is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Mary Taylor Boone, (2) Sons; Joseph Edward “Eddie” Boone (Jacqueline), and David Anthony Boone (Tiffany) both of Howardstown.   (3) Daughters; Margaret Mary Welch (Jim), Terre Haute IN, Charlotte Ann Potts (Steve), Louisville and Anne Garland Snellen (Vernie) of Culvertown, and (16) grandchildren. (3) sisters; Aurelia Cecil, Howardstown, Susan Davis, Louisville, and Mary Cora Head, New Haven.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday at 11 am, April 1, 2013. at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown with Rev. Ken Fortener  presiding.     Visitation will be from 3:00 PM till 8 pm Sunday March 31, with a prayer service at 6 pm and from 9 am till 10:30 Monday April 1 at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.     Memorial Contributions may go to the St. Ann School, 7500 Howardstown Road, Howardstown, KY 40051.     Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven KY in Charge of the arrangements.     Friends may leave an online condolence at our web site: www.jlgfuneralhome.com
