Billie Ray Alvey, 85, of New Haven, returned to the Lord on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home. Billie retired from PNC Bank as an Assistant VP in the Security Department. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, serving in the choir for many years. Billie volunteered at the Kentucky Railroad Museum and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cooper and Dorothy Medley Ray; and siblings, Larry and Dolly Ray. Billie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charlie Alvey; two children, Mona Snider (John) and Tim Alvey (Jackie); sisters, Betty Johnson, Mary Ann Cahoe and June Mahoney; along with three grandchildren that she adored, Andrea Smith, Mason and Garrett Alvey; and a beloved great granddaughter, Emaleigh Smith, that made her smile. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, New Haven. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Norton Children's Foundation, Child Life Department.
