Clarence Roberts “Bobby” Johnson Jr., New Haven age 71 passed away at Flaget Memorial Hospital on August 28, 2014. 

He was born and raised in New Haven by the late Clarence Roberts Johnson Sr and Mary Finetta Hayden Johnson, a Catholic by Faith and a member of the St. Catherine Catholic Church, he served his community well and was currently serving as Mayor of New Haven. He had retired as Police Chief of New Haven after 19 years of service, served on City Council, retired fire fighter for New Haven and Rolling Fork fire departments, EMT, local Bus Driver and a Member of the New Haven Optimist Club.  

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by (3) Brothers, Nick Johnson Sr., Joe Hayden Johnson, and Chris Johnson. (1) Sister Rose Marie Johnson. 

Bobby is survived by, his loving wife of 51 years, Guyula Boone Johnson, (4) daughters, Michelle Brown (David) of Hodgenville, Kim Maupin (Jerry) of New Haven, Shawn Ballard (Jeff) of Bardstown, and Nicole Pinkston (Randy) of New Haven. (11) grandchildren, Kaelyn McDowell (Brandon), Danielle Brown, Ivy Brown, Presley Brown, Morgan Gerage (Ryan), Shelby Maupin, Braden Maupin, Cole Ballard, Connor Ballard, Sara Ballard and Mattie Mae Pinkston. (3) great grandchildren, Owen and Kampbell McDowell, and Sawyer Gerage. Step Mother, Sister Jean Johnson, Loretto KY ; his siblings; Phil Johnson (Margaret), Karen Downs (David), Jack Johnson (Carol) all of Bardstown KY,  Mary Dean Beyke (Jim) of Central City KY,  Kevin Johnson (Marie) of Indianapolis IN.  Many nieces, nephews, cousins and the extended Boone Family also survive. 

 A Funeral Mass for Clarence Roberts “Bobby” Johnson will be held on Sat. August 30, 2014 at 11 AM at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven, with the Rev. Troy Overton  officiating. Burial will be in the St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven Kentucky. 

Visitation will be on Friday August 29, 2014 from 4-8 PM and Saturday morning 9–10:30 am at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the New Haven Enhancement Committee, City of New Haven PO Box 98 New Haven KY 40051.
